Life is full of unexpected twists and turns that often leave us marveling at the interconnectedness of it all. In my recent video, I shared a story that perfectly captures this sentiment—about a house in Sedona, its unique journey into my life, and how it became more than just a property. Here’s a written version of that story.

Starting Over in Sedona
In 2020, right in the middle of the chaos brought on by the pandemic, my life was in a period of transition. After taking a year off and living in Colorado, my wife and I decided to move back to Sedona. It was a whirlwind time—my wife was pregnant, and I was just getting back into real estate.

One evening, while at dinner at my mom’s house, I launched my new real estate website. Within an hour of going live, I received a call from a gentleman in California. He wasn’t looking for a short-term rental or an investment property; he was ready to leave his life in California behind and move to Sedona permanently.

We connected immediately. He was a seasoned real estate investor with 40 years of experience and a background in Hollywood. As we discussed his vision for a new home, the challenge became clear: the market was heating up, and competition was fierce.

Finding the Right Home
After an extensive search, we found a home that fit his vision—a Vaness-designed property built by a renowned architect. It was unique, contemporary, and unlike anything else in Sedona.

Submitting the offer was no small feat. We went all in, including an escalation clause to secure the property amidst multiple offers. One competitor, an architect who had fallen in love with the home, made the process even more intense.

By June, our offer was accepted, and we began the inspection process. The gentleman, filled with excitement, returned to California to wrap up loose ends before his big move. Little did he know that life was about to test his resolve in an unimaginable way.

A Life-Changing Encounter
One day, during his regular walk in his beautiful California neighborhood, a man with a gun jumped out of the bushes and demanded his wallet. In a split-second decision, he tackled the man, wrestled the gun away, and held him down until help arrived.

He later told me that this harrowing experience solidified his intuition: it was time to move to Sedona. Despite the idyllic life he had built in California, something was pulling him toward a new chapter in Sedona, and he decided to follow that instinct.

Full Circle
Over the years, we became close friends. Even as life took me to Switzerland for two years, we stayed connected. When I recently moved back to Sedona, he and his wife graciously offered their home for me to stay in while they visited family for the holidays.

As I sat in the very house I had helped them buy almost five years earlier, I couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible journey we’ve all been on. This home represents so much more than bricks and mortar—it’s a symbol of connection, intuition, and the beauty of life’s full-circle moments.

Gratitude and Reflection
Sharing this story reminds me of why I love what I do. Real estate isn’t just about properties; it’s about people, relationships, and the stories that make a house a home.

I want to thank everyone who has supported my journey, whether by watching my videos, sharing feedback, or simply being part of the conversation. Your support means the world to me.

If you have a story of your own—about following your intuition, making a life-changing move, or experiencing a full-circle moment—I’d love to hear it. Feel free to share in the comments or reach out.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season. Here’s to more incredible stories and connections in the new year!
